Golden Rock is a lovingly restored
18th century sugar plantation located at the foot of the rain
forest. The estate covers a hundred acres of lush tropical
gardens. The hotel has a large 50 ft. spring-fed swimming
pool, gourmet restaurant and bar, and an outdoor dining area.
The restaurant at Golden Rock is one of the finest in Nevis:
famous for the candlelight dinners.
Golden Rock offers free shuttle service
to the town of Charlestown and to beaches. Pinneys Beach has
four miles of golden sand beach shaded by coconut palms. The
beach on the Windward coast offers windsurfing and fishing.
Golden Rock is a thousand feet above
sea level and is perched at the foot of the rain forest. There
are rain forest tours, walking journeys, and nature hikes
available for guests.
The activities desk can arrange deep
sea fishing, golf tee times, message therapy, horseback riding,
kayak rentals, and scuba diving.
The nine freestanding Cottages
are tastefully decorated with antiques and four poster
beds, rocking chairs and island-made floral print fabrics.
All cottages have a private bath and a large patio with tropical
or ocean views overlooking the sea for several miles.
The "Sugar Mill" is a split level suite in a
freestanding sugar mill. Upstairs is a four-poster bed and
master bathroom. The lower level has a living room area with
double sofabed and a second bath.
