Nevis is
exotic and unspoiled: with secluded beaches and pristine
reefs, lush rain forests, and a history rich in colonial
chivalry and romance. Nevis is located in the northern
part of the Leeward Islands, south of St. Kitts, west
of Antigua, and north of Montserrat.
Nevis is
nearly circular, with an area of 36 square miles and
a population of 9000 residents. A mountain range covers
the central part of the island. Dense, tropical rain
forests near the summit of the mountain contrast with
the cultivated, fertile valley below.
Nevis is
so quiet, it is said, "A coconut falling disturbs
the peace." Crime is virtually nonexistent and
the visitor will discover a friendly welcome, gourmet
dining, charming resorts and inns, and excellent shopping
values. Some of the activities in Nevis are golfing
on the championship 18-hole course, excellent scuba
diving and snorkeling in the clear waters, or beachcombing
along the miles of long sandy beaches.
